Take away his oxygen and challenge him. He needs the ratings.

Don Winslow (@donwinslow) is right.

Maybe you’ve noticed that every time President Trump speaks in the White House briefing room he completely controls the narrative and basically gives a speech about whatever he wants to push out to the public. The link in the previous sentence from a Vox story is from April, and I feel is one of the most blatant — but the format has become regular standard operating procedure every time POTUS opens his mouth. This is like an out of control media wildfire.

Perhaps it’s time to stop feeding the fire — you know, giving it oxygen. The same oxygen he pulls out of every room he walks into. While scrolling through my Twitter feed I saw (and this article was inspired by) a post from Don Winslow that implores White House correspondents to challenge the president and disallow whatever lie he is spewing in real time.

Stand up to the bully. That’s what he is — a bully. Everyone is afraid of a bully until he gets punched in the nose by a smaller kid that’s really brave. Journalists — you’re the smaller kids in the room.
