Thank you for your input. I agree with everything you are saying. I also feel that with the GOP being so fractured at the moment — and struggling for their identity — along with the fact that Trump LOST the popular vote twice and cost them the GA election’s two Senate seats — Mitch McConnell might be more likely to push for a “conscience” vote to convict. Especially with Marjorie Taylor Greene saying “it’s Trump’s party!” Looking at the Washington Post whip count at the moment — the GOP is closer than we think. There are only about five or six senators who are right now clinging to constitutional reasons (well, they all are for the most part) for no trial. Once the trial begins, and the emotion sets in remembering the day of the riot and the trauma (being replayed over and over) — I believe Trump is in deep sh*t. This is the GOP’s chance to take back the party from the extremists — their last chance before the primaries in 2022. (I’m working on expanding what I just wrote in a piece).
