The most frequent reason for people leaving their jobs has to do with their direct manager. Toxic workplaces are like minefields. When a boss starts bullying and affecting mental and physical health--it's time to reevaluate the position altogether. But human resources really only exists to protect the company--not the employee, even if it's framed as such. If the situation is beyond repair, it's better to find another job.
